Tidal etchings

I've posted some of my grandfather's photographs over at flickr. He would have hated the idea, he was paranoid about people stealing or devaluing his work which is why the scans are all low res. But he isn't around anymore to say no and I wanted to share them. They are hauntingly beautiful, maybe someday I'll inherit a print.

They're really beautiful and go quite well with the Hildegrard von Bingen "Voice of the Blood" CD Bill is currently playing....

"Peaks" is the one at your mom's, right? I think "Nude Flowers" is my favourite. There are some kind of creepy shots in there, too. "Storm," for example, looks like an illustration from a Grimms' fairytale.

They're remarkable (obviously, as I'm remarking about them). What's even more astonishing to me than the niftiness of your grandfather's photography is that these are naturally occuring "pictures" in the sand.

I just love stuff. Love love love.

How great a job would that be? Pretty damn great. Okay I'll try, but if they reject me for a more, uh...conventionally enthusiastic person I won't be too shocked.
